How Artificial Intelligence Is Impacting Thought Leadership

Leader explores AI's role in amplifying authentic thought leadership.

Use AI to amplify your voice, not replace it.
The AI Revolution in Thought Leadership
When ChatGPT surged in popularity in late 2023, it created a wave of confusion. Some feared job loss. Others questioned authenticity. Organizations were split. Some banned AI entirely, while others integrated it into every corner of their work and lives.
Now, two groups have emerged: early adopters using AI to gain an edge, and those scrambling to catch up.
Like any powerful tool, AI can be used ethically or misused for harm, such as misinformation or deepfakes. While experts and policymakers work to regulate it, our focus as thought leaders should be on how we can use AI to create a positive impact.
If used wisely, AI is a transformative force. It can amplify leadership, accelerate innovation, and unlock new opportunities.
Breaking through Personal Limitations
Every entrepreneur faces personal limitations. For me, it was writing in English—my second language. I could write persuasive sales copy, but it always had to be reviewed by a native speaker. A simple article took one or two business days to finalize.
Video was another challenge. Reading a script on camera didn’t feel authentic, so I’d spend hours rehearsing just to produce a five-minute VSL.
AI has changed all of that.
- Writing: I draft my ideas, feed them into tools like ChatGPT, Claude, or DeepSeek, and get polished content in minutes.
- Video: I use AI-powered voice and video cloning to create natural, high-quality videos without spending hours in front of a camera.

Thoughtful Use of AI in Content Creation
One of the biggest concerns about AI is that it generates generic, low-quality content. And it will if you use it the wrong way. AI doesn’t have original thought. It pulls from existing data. So if you tell it to “write an article about AI and leadership,” you’ll get a shallow result lacking real insight.
But used strategically, AI becomes an amplifier for your unique voice.
- Draft your thoughts first.
- Let AI help you polish, expand, or refine them.
- Maintain your perspective and experience as the foundation.
Beware of Outdated or Misleading AI Output
AI doesn’t always give accurate or current answers.
For example, a potential joint venture partner once researched me using an AI tool. Unfortunately, the data was outdated. About 85% of it was wrong, and he wasted most of our meeting verifying bad info instead of having a meaningful conversation.
Lesson: AI is not a replacement for real human interaction.
Instead of relying on automated research, ask:
“What project are you most excited about right now that could use some JV support?”
It takes three minutes to ask and gives you far more accurate, timely, and useful information.

Being Right vs. Being Correct: AI’s Bias Problem
AI doesn’t care about truth. It’s designed to give convincing responses based on your prompt, even if that means presenting conflicting or biased information.
This reinforces a deeper issue in human behavior. People tend to value being right more than being correct.
For example, AI can write articles backed by studies promoting veganism or carnivorism, depending on your prompt. Both sides have research. Which is true? AI doesn’t decide. It simply reflects your bias.
As thought leaders, we have a choice.
- Use AI to deepen division by amplifying polarizing viewpoints.
- Use AI to explore complex topics with nuance and integrity.
Conclusion: Lead with AI, but Lead Wisely
AI is a tool. An extraordinary one. It helps you produce faster, communicate better, and scale your message. But it’s not a replacement for human insight, authenticity, or connection.
Here’s how to lead responsibly in the age of AI:
- Don’t blindly trust AI-generated content.
- Don’t automate away human relationships.
- Don’t trade depth for speed.
Use AI not to replace you but to empower you to lead on a whole new level.
